A few month ago I switched Ten & Addy over to cloth diapers. I know what your thinking... "GROSS! You have to clean and wash them and reuse them?" My answer... Yes! But its not near as yucky as people think... it only takes a couple of extra steps compared to disposable!
The main reason we switched is because of all the waste going into our landfills and I am really trying to save the earth... lol just kidding :) while i'm glad that helps the main reason we use cloth is because of cost. Did you know it cost anywhere from $1,000-$1,500 to diaper a babe until they are potty trained(2 1/2)? That's a lot of money folks! We decided it was the best option since we had 2 in diapers.
A friend of mine let me borrow several diapers until I get a stockpile of my own which was awesome.
I know everyone is wondering... "Do you have to touch any poo?" Answer... EWE...GROSS... NO!! lol They have made cloth diapering super easy, I have a neat sprayer that connects to the toilet and you just spray the poo in the toilet and flush then throw wet diapers in a waterproof bag until washing.... washing is again a little more work than just tossing them but totally worth it then my hubby built a neat clothes line in our backyard so they can air dry!
We still use disposable when we are away from home but anytime we spend money on diapers it really aggravates me... they are expensive... why do we spend so much money on something for our children to poo & pee in and then throw away?
Way to go! Wish I had what it takes to do it!
